Description

Tamarack 308 is in a central location, just a two minute walk to the village. This one bedroom, top floor condo has an ensuite bathroom, a full kitchen, a lounge with wood fire, and a private balcony with a gas BBQ. There is 1 parking stall available in the underground car park.

Entering through the front door you will see the open living room and kitchen. The living room is equipped with a flat screen TV, DVD player and Nintendo Wii. The living room also houses a three seater sofa bed which can fold into a queen bed and sleep two people. The Sofa bed looks onto the wood-burning fireplace, with plenty of light entering through the large glass-sliding doors onto the private balcony. Fire wood is provided, and can be collected from the garage. Additionally the living room has a bookcase equip with books and board games. On the other side of the living room, there is a pop-out dining table with chairs. There is also additional seating just around the corner at the breakfast bar across from the kitchen. Then, around the other corner is a well-equipped kitchen, complete with cooker and range, microwave and coffee machine.

Through the other side of the living room there is the bedroom with a queen bed. As you enter there is a large, open closet, with lots of hanging space as well as a full length mirror. On the other side of the bed is a bedside table equipped with a lamp. When entering the bedroom, the window ahead looks out into the distant mountain range, and on the other side, another window looks out towards the village. At the opposite side of the bed, the ensuite bathroom has a bathtub with shower overhead, a single basin set in the counter, and a toilet.

Ski access is a short, two minute walk away, giving access to the Snow Ghost, Ridge Rocket, and Plaza Chairs.

There is a communal sauna available to use in the complex, as well as coin-operated laundry facilities.

Our family of four recently stayed at Tamarack. This was our first time to Big White and we found that it was a manageable walk (with our skis and gear) to the village. We were there for five nights. The office staff was friendly, responsive and easy to work with. The rental was very clean, quiet and as described. Plenty of kitchen supplies for cooking and cleaning. Our two teenage boys were able to sleep comfortably on the queen size hide-a-bed. Note that there are not elevators so you get even more exercise walking to & from the village but also getting up to the third floor. Parking garage was easy and convenient.

somewhat dissatisfied. First, the entrance door was broken and the managing staff tried unsuccessfully for 2 hours to fix it. Apparently, they were aware of the problem but did not try to fix it until we moved in. The toilet flushing lever was broken (came apart). There were cookies and crumps under the sofa and bed. Two stoves did not work. The firewood provided in the garage were all too big for the woodstove. The balcony was used as storage.
