Description

Timber Frame is well-appointed vacation home and set right on the shores of Christina Lake and has a sandy beach which makes the perfect spot for swimming and sunbathing in the Summer months. You can sit in your private hot tub in the evening and gaze out over the lake from the deck. The property is set on an acre of land with lots of trees which provide privacy and a great outlook from the house.

A wonderful vacation home to create lasting lakeside vacation memories. It has open-plan living at its best, the living areas are great for entertaining, with large windows to let in plenty of natural light and a wood burning stove in the living room for those colder nights. As the property name suggests, "Timberframe" features plenty of wood panelling and timber trimming which adds to the ambience of the place.

The kitchen has loads of countertop space, plenty of shelves for crockery and spices, as well as an eating bar to seat 3 people. The dining room off the kitchen is bright and airy with wonderful lake and forest views and the living room has vaulted ceilings and a central fireplace to make those colder nights cosy and warm. The living room comes with two comfy fabric couches and couple of arm chairs, set around a central wood burning fireplace (for the cooler spring, fall and winter evenings) or when you want to be inside from the heat of the summer's day. The is a solid wood table with pine wheel back chairs. Or imagine having your family meals on the wood deck at the outside table and chairs, overlooking the beautiful lake. The living area comes with a desk and piano. Stairs lead up to two bedrooms and bathroom. Down the corridor on the main floor; there’s a colourful powder room on the main floor with a vanity and toilet, a separate laundry room with washer and dryer, third bedroom with queen bed, walk in closet, dresser, windows facing the drive and side of the building, the third bedroom has an ensuite full bathroom with shower stall, basin and toilet. The front entrance opens up into a large hallway with coat hooks and bench.

At the top of the stairs turn right into the master bedroom and turn left into the second bedroom. You’ll be struck by the space in the master bedroom, which is furnished with a queen bed and has lovely views of the forest out the large window. The ensuite is a treat, with a two person tub, and double sinks (sorry the sauna is off limits as it has been turned into an owner lock off!) The second bedroom has queen sized bed and a set of single over single bunk beds. This room has one window face the drive and the window overlooks the side.

There is no air conditioning at Timberframe, for better ventilation and less chance of bugs and rodents getting in the home, please keep the screen door on the right when facing the lake open, and keep the main sliding patio door closed at all times the home is naturally cooled by the trees and its design.

A grassy area for sunbathing, a sandy beach with fire pit ( firewood is included) leads down to dock with walkway. A rowboat comes with this property, which the owners do not mind their guests borrowing as long as you agree to follow the rules and policies outlined in the enclosed risk management waiver. Please take good care of these watercraft and honour the special privilege of being able to use them. To launch your boat you will need to use the free launch at Texas Creek, a 3 minute drive, this is a public boat launch and does get extremely busy in peak summer, or you can prepay ahead of time for a launch at the Christina Lake Marina on Larson Road.

Please observe the property only sleep 8, no tents in the garden, and keep visitors to a minimum; by minimum we mean a maximum of up to 4 people visiting for up to 4 hours, twice a week during your stay.

Timber Frame Vacation Experience

We loved this private lakeside property with a hot tub on the deck and a wharf on the lake. The kitchen was spacious and the bedrooms had nice linens. Two of the bedrooms had en suites, which was so convenient. My granddaughter thought it was the best, and I second this. We would love to come back again.

A Week at Timber Frame

Timber Frame is an impressive house that easily accommodates group of six people while leaving plenty of space to get away. It is well equipped for preparing dinners and for relaxing, but like many rentals that are also homes, it could use some de-cluttering and and a bit of care and attention. Most urgently, it needs a ladder for the dock. Diving off is fine, but climbing back on is a bit of a struggle even for someone in relatively good shape. For others, it's impossible. The lake is a very busy one, with many skiers and lots of power craft, so one needs to pay attention when swimming or paddling in the canoe, and the general experience on the water is not particularly restful. Once Labour day passed, however, all became blissfully calm. Sadly, the smoke from various forest fires occluded the sun much of the time, but the surrounding geography was still exceptionally beautiful, nonetheless.
Response from RentChalets
Reply from Owner: We welcome you to our much-loved home on Christina Lake. We don’t live here any more, but come in the spring and fall to enjoy the beauty of our unique cove. We get both morning and evening sun thanks to our perfect south-facing property, and the lush birch and cedar trees and tall ferns give us an unusual amount of privacy. Nothing is better than morning coffee or evening wine on our large dock with the exquisite views. We’re also perfectly situated for moon watching from the hot tub, or gazing at the millions of stars far from city lights. We also hope you enjoy the personal art on our walls and hand-made pottery and the sense of a well-loved and cared-for home rather than an impersonal hotel. BBQing and eating on the deck with the terrific view is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
