Leah Carnahan has enjoyed yoga for over 25 years. In the 1990’s she lived and breathed yoga in the Indian Himalayas studying at the International Meditation Institute. Here she was formally trained in Hatha and Iyengar Yoga by Mohani. Her next instructor Deepriya enhanced her body awareness by introducing her to the Somatic technique, the Alexandra technique and the McKenzie method. It was at this time when she received her certification in Somayoga and began to teach at IMI.
Her heartfelt classes are best described as welcoming, inspiring, safe, playful, grounding and peaceful. Leah feels that a balance of movement and stillness together bring a natural inspiration to every moment. While she facilitates gentle movement, she encourages those around her to listen to their inmost voice and make the postures their own. She feels that loving acceptance the moment as it is and of yourself as you are, allows for the most rewarding practice. Read more about her style on the Workshop page.
